The Nightowl

The NightowlHey hey hey! Yes, it’s 11pm on a Wednesday, folks… but here I am with a tall cup of espresso in hand.  And just so you know, that’s soy milk I’ve added to my java – I’m a practicing vegan, so most of the spots I’ll name drop are herbivore-friendly. Here at The Place, they call me “The Nightowl” and I’m gonna guess it’s due to my slightly irregular sleep cycles. Living in downtown La La Land (otherwise known as good ol’ Los Angeles), I just can’t help but dig the nocturnal scene. Doesn’t matter what night of the week, something is always going down here. Needless to say, it makes it kinda hard for me to get any shuteye.

But I’m not complaining. I grew my very first roots down in laidback Orange County – sunny Surf City USA, to be exact – so the fast-paced, night-based life I’ve built for myself in the City of Angels is the perfect yin to my childhood’s yang. In my twenty-eight years of calling SoCal “home” I gotta admit, I’m pretty pasty for a California girl (unless you count the rainbow of ink in my growing collection of tattoos). Don’t get me wrong, I love the sunshine, the practically perpetual perfect weather, and as a true Pisces, I adore being so close to that vast stretch of cobalt called the Pacific Ocean. But I just can’t stay away from the neon lights of night.

So if you’re into pulling an all-nighter, hit me up and I’ll share the scoop on what’s happening in my neck of the urban jungle.
