An Evening of Classic Lily Tomlin March 6. 7:30pm. Orange County Performing Arts Center, Segerstrom Hall. 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa. An Evening of Classic Lily Tomlin is Lily Tomlin at her best. She combines her stand-up comedy talents with a visit to some of her most memorable characters. And you won’t want to miss her take on local and current events. She’s always on the mark with a delivery that’s astute, to the point and exceedingly funny. 714-556-2122. www.ocpac.org. Noises Off Through March 8. South Coast Repertory Segerstrom Stage. Hailed as "the funniest play written in my lifetime" by The New York Times critic Frank Rich, Noises Off started a trend that will never end, keeping audiences in stitches the world over. It’s a perfectly delightful farce containing Nothing On, which is a purposefully terrible farce about sexual dalliances. This play-within-a-play is interrupted as actors come and go, usually at the wrong time and through the wrong doors, while off-stage assignations lead to on-stage chaos. Bring extra oxygen. 714-708-5555. www.scr.org. Wheelchair Accessible.
Passages Through August 16 (Closed Mondays). 10am – 4pm. Bowers Museum. 2002 N. Main Street, Santa Ana. Check out Passages: Photographs of Africa by Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher. Ra Ra Riot March 2. Detroit Bar. 843 W. 19th Street, Costa Mesa. In our humble opinion, Ra Ra Riot is one of the best relative newcomers to the indie rock/twee pop scene. Formed just 3 years ago in Syracuse, NY, their on-stage energy is both addicting and contagious. Show also features special guests Cut Off Your Hands (another of our faves) and Telekinesis. 21+ with ID. 800-594-TIXX. www.detroitbar.com. Wheelchair Accessible.
