Varius Batty
Hello! My name is Varius Batty and I live and breathe the film industry. I'm currently living in Downtown Los Angeles, and have been in the area for 8 years, but I'm an east coast transplant. I've worked with directors, producers, actors -- filmmaking is my true love. On a normal day, you'll find me writing and making music videos and films. And when I'm not working, I'm enjoying the nightlife here in LA, always on the lookout for new night spots and restaurants. What fascinates me about movies and music is that the director and conductor have the power to literally control the viewer's and listener's brain for a set time. Whatever they put into the film or music requires total attention and concentration. So both of these art forms have the power to take the audience on a journey. How is that different than a restaurant or a night club venue? Both also give the patron an experience that they can walk away from, hold on to, and remember. I'm constantly searching for memorable moments that make me look at things differently. Someone once said that Michael Mann (the director of
Heat
and
Collateral
) knows the ins and outs of this city and would be the person to talk to find strange, interesting, and unknown places to eat and drink. I aspire to be like him in that regard. Come follow me on my adventures exploring this city.
